Tipping fee
The charge a landfill or other facility makes per ton of waste delivered.
A tipping fee, or gate fee, is what a landfill, transfer station or processing facility charges per ton for waste delivered. Haulers pass it on in their bills, alongside a charge per pull or per container.
Pallets are bulky for their weight, so in a dumpster they tend to cost more in pulls than in tipping fees. That's why removing pallets from the waste stream often cuts haul frequency more than tonnage charges.
We don't publish tipping fees or any other prices; they vary by place and contract. The Pallet Fate Report lets you enter your own, from your invoice, and compares annual cost for your current and proposed mix.
Ask your hauler how pallets affect your bill: by volume, by weight or by number of pulls.
