GHG Emission Factors Hub

EPA's annual set of default emission factors for corporate greenhouse gas inventories.

EPA's Center for Corporate Climate Leadership publishes the GHG Emission Factors Hub, a spreadsheet of default factors for organisational inventories, updated roughly yearly. Its Table 9 covers waste for scope 3 category 5 (waste generated in operations) and category 12 (end-of-life treatment of sold products).

Table 9's notes say its factors leave out the avoided-emissions parts of WARM's factors, such as energy recovery offsets and landfill carbon storage, so they don't match WARM. For dimensional lumber, the 2025 Hub gives 0.17 MTCO2e per short ton landfilled and 0.05 combusted, and NA for recycling and composting.
